"The Foundation for West Africa" Exhibit

Opening Reception: Thursday, February 1, 2018 (6:00 - 8:00pm)
The Foundation for West Africa (TFWA) , a RI-based organization that supports community radio stations in Sierra Leone, Liberia and Senegal, will display photographs, artwork, artifacts and other items from the West Africa region.
The exhibit will also include short videos from daily life in West Africa and other surprise events. TFWA will also screen Leh Wi Tok (Let Us Talk) the award-winning documentary film in which Sierra Leone’s brave and visionary pioneers tell their story of launching independent radio broadcasts that helped end the country’s eleven year civil and build democracy in its wake. The exhibit will provide and exciting, colorful and informative look into the people and cultures of West Africa. Rhode Island is home to thousands of West Africans who have settled here to flee war and build a new life.
