"Exploring Abstracts" Spring Juried Exhibit 

Now through May 19

(Wednesday 10-4, Thursday 1-6, Friday 10-4, & Saturday 12-3)

Warwick Center for the Arts (WCFA) is pleased to present "Exploring Abstracts" Spring Juried Exhibit.  This Exhibit runs from April 5 - May 19th, 2017 and features 28 Artists and 36 Artworks in a variety of mediums such as drawing, painting, photography, and more!

Opening Reception: Thursday, April 5 from 6:00 - 8:00pm!

Receptions are free and open to the public. Awards will be presented during the reception.

"Exploring Abstracts" Workshop for Kids and Teens 

Saturday, May 13 -- Ages 6-11 (10:30-12:30pm) & Ages 12-17 (1:00-3:00pm)

This workshop coincides with our “Exploring Abstracts” Spring Juried Exhibit! Participants ages 6 – 11 & 12 - 17 will have the opportunity to view the exhibit and explore creating abstract art with WCFA instructor Anna Wingfield! This is a great opportunity for participants to learn more about the use of color, line, composition and more. Art comes in all shapes, sizes, and forms -- we all have our own creative strengths, you just have to find yours! The cost is $25 per participant. Oakland Beach in the 1960's: Art, Society, and Nature

May 24 - June 30, 2017 -- In the Main Gallery

Opening Reception, Thursday June 1 -- Food Truck Night at Warwick City Hall

This exhibit will feature original images of Oakland Beach from that era by Carmel Vitullo, the acclaimed Rhode Island photographer, along with other images and items related to OaklandBeach and describing the artistic, social, and environmental context for her work.  Co-sponsored by Warwick Center for the Arts; City of Warwick Department of Tourism, Culture & Development; Bert Gallery, Save the Bay; TD Bank, and the Warwick Historical Society.

"Art of the iPhone" Photography Workshop

Saturday, June 24, 2017 (9:00am - 12:00pm) -- Led by Photographer Jan Armor

Cost: $50 for Non-Members / $40 for Members -- To register email 

It’s a new age. “It’s been said that the best camera is the one you have with you." and the phone in your pocket does indeed offer a spontaneous new way to make good pictures. In this three-hour workshop you will learn how to create artistic photographs with the camera in your phone. You will also learn how to edit and process your images using Apple “Photos” and other apps. Please Note: This workshop covers how to use the CAMERA in your iPhone. This is not a workshop on how to use your phone.

“If you have a "mobile device," an iPhone and/or an iPad, you have a convenient and powerful tool for creating unique imagery. I will show you how to unlock the potential of these devices. Furthermore, with a rapidly growing number of photography "apps," the possibilities are seemingly limitless. Be inspired wherever you are. Learn how the portability and connectivity of these mobile miracles allow you to shoot, edit, and share your creations wherever you go. "19 on Paper" Group Show

The Warwick Center for the Arts is pleased to host the members of "19 on Paper," an organization of Southern New England artists who create works of art with or of paper! Members of 19 on Paper include CC Wolf, Sally Caswell, Paul M. Murray, Kiroko Shikashio, Cindy Wilson, BL Green, Marion Wilner, David DeMelim, Howard Rubenstein, Grace Bentley-Scheck, Jill Brody, Trish O'Day, Kendra Ferreira, Ann Marie Gillett, Felicia Touhey, and Alma Davenport.
