Experiments in Expressive Painting Workshop with Sam Green
The juror for our current exhibit, “Outside In”,(Sam Green) will lead you through painting prompts and exercises to add expression and individuality to your paintings. Sam will encourage you to paint quickly and freely, using your brush as well as a number of other tools for your marking making experience. The instructor will be working in oil paints, however, you are welcome to use acrylics or other media. As an added bonus, participants are invited to remain in the gallery to until closing (3pm) if they wish to continue working.
Dates: Saturday, April 2, 2022
Time: 9:00 am to 1:00 pm (note that participants are welcome to remain in the gallery until 3pm if they wish to continue working independently)
Tuition: $95 (non-member) / $75 (WCFA members)

Suggested Materials to bring to the workshop
- A full pallet of paints
- Two or three cloth rags (old t-shirts work great)
- Two or three brushes
- One or two pallet knives (long flat edge are best.)
- Four prepared surfaces. Note: If you’re painting in oil; gessoed water color paper is a great way to do this on a budget.
- Gamsol/water container
- Reference photos. (The teachings will focus on landscape but you can paint whatever you want)
