Call for artists: WCFA’s 35th Annual RI Open
A Juried Exhibit for Rhode Island Artists
Note: The error that some of you encountered when submitting your entry form has been fixed as of 1pm Wednesday. Due to this complication, we are extending the entry window to 11:30pm Thursday, 9/23.
The Warwick Center for the Arts (WCFA) seeks original artwork created by artists who live or work in Rhode Island. Each year, we look forward to this opportunity to celebrate the creativity and artistic vision of our fellow Rhode Islanders. All media will be considered including, painting, drawing, mixed media, sculpture, photography, digitals arts and textile arts.
Opening Reception: October 21st 6:00-7:30 pm
The exhibit will be on view from October 15, 2021 – November 20, 2021
$20 for one image, $40 for up to 3 images (2 or 3 images). Current WCFA Members; deduct $5 from fees.
Payments can be made by check (payable to WCFA), credit card by phone or online via our website or PayPal. All payments are non-refundable and due at the time of submission.
Awards: Three “Excellence Awards” will be presented at the opening reception. First Prize $200, Second Prize $150, Third Prize $50, additional non-cash Honorable Mentions will also be presented.
Eligibility: Works must be original, available for purchase, and completed during the last 12 months by Rhode Island artists.
Display Requirements: All hanging artwork needs to be wired and ready to hang; our hanging system does not allow for hanging with clips, sawtooth hangers, or loops – please wire prior to drop off. Pedestals are available for 3-D works.
Artwork Drop-off Dates: Saturday, October 9th, Wednesday, October 13th and Thursday, October 14th (between 11am – 3pm).
Artwork Pick-up Dates: Saturday, November 20th, Wednesday November 24th or Wednesday, December 1st.
How to Submit:
From the WCFA home page, hover over “What’s Happening”; click on “Call for Art”.
Email JPEG images of your artworks to [email protected] with “RI Open” in the subject line (3 submissions max per artist)—JPEGs should be labeled with the title of artwork only.
Required “Artwork Submission Form” and JPEGs must be mailed to [email protected] by Midnight on Wednesday, September 29th.
Notification of Acceptance: Wednesday, September 29th
Art Sales Commissions: Artists receive a 60% commission on all original artworks and prints sold. Current Warwick Center for the Arts Members receive a 70% commission – to become a member, visit our website!
