March 28 | 7:30 am - 8:00 am

Still Together Mindfulness Meditation Community

MISSION: to develop and manifest wisdom and compassion for the benefit of all beings and the planet.

MEDITATION PRACTICE SESSIONS:
In-Person Meditation Sessions are held on the first & third Monday of each month, 6:30-7:30pm, at Warwick Center for the Arts (3259 Post Road, Warwick, RI 02886). Doors open at 6:00pm. Chairs are provided, but feel free to bring a mat or cushion.
Virtual Online Sessions, via Zoom, are held every second, fourth and fifth Monday of the month from 6:30pm-7:30pm, and every Thursday morning at 7:30am-7:50am. To receive the Zoom link, please email meditateforwellbeing@gmail.com.

PARTICIPANTS: All Welcome!* No meditation experience needed.

COST: Always free

BENEFITS:
Although the benefits of mindfulness meditation on stress reduction and other health-related issues are well-founded, the practice may enhance resilience by strengthening the innate ability to cope, make wiser and kinder decisions, and make the world a better place. Practitioners should trust their own experience.

FORMAT:
Paulette Miller, group founder, facilitates the sessions with the help of other practitioners. Sessions often include breath meditation, movement meditation, and loving-kindness meditation. From time-to-time, we use music meditation, videos, and almost always a poem. The meditation exercises are guided. It’s a quiet, friendly time together.

The sessions offer a westernized, secular version of Vipassana, also known as insight, open-hearted, and analytic meditation. The design of the practice is in a style similar to Jon Kabat Zinn’s (creator of the Stress Reduction Clinic and the Center for Mindfulness in Medicine – University of Massachusetts Medical School) and other recognized and popular teachers (Jack Kornfield, Sharon Salzberg, Tara Brach, Joseph Goldstein, et al).

PLEASE NOTE:
Mindfulness meditation practice may not be appropriate for persons experiencing serious mental or physical health challenges, chemical dependencies or suicidal feelings. Please discuss any of these concerns with your healthcare provider.

ACCOMODATIONS & ACCESSIBILITY:
*We welcome people of all cultural, ethnic, and religious backgrounds, racial identities, socio-economic class, sexual orientation, gender, age, education, and abilities. We strive to host inclusive, accessible events that enable all individuals, including individuals with disabilities, to engage fully. To request an accommodation or for inquiries about accessibility, please contact 401-737-0010 or email meditateforwellbeing@gmail.com.

ABOUT Paulette Miller
Paulette has been studying and practicing versions of meditation and yoga her entire adult life. Now retired from a business career, Paulette volunteers her time as a meditation group facilitator and has been teaching meditation for many years. The lessons learned while earning her master’s degree in education (adult training and development) are put to good use. At the same time, she believes group sessions strengthen her own meditation practice, introduce her to many wonderful people, and just make life better.
