Executive Director

About Warwick Center for the Arts (WCFA)
WCFA is a Rhode Island based, non-profit arts organization that has served the community of Warwick and the state of Rhode Island for over 50 years. Our mission is to connect all ages and abilities to a variety of arts activities including exhibits, educational programs, and cultural experiences.
Position Overview
The WCFA is seeking a detail-oriented individual to join our team as a part-time Executive Director. The Executive Director is responsible for the successful leadership and management of the WCFA, its staff, volunteers and interns, according to the strategic directions set by the Board. This position averages 20-25 hours per week at $26.00/hr with opportunities for future growth. Flexible hours will be required for summer camp and weekend events.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Leadership
- Execute the mission, vision, and values that guide WCFA including its Strategic Plan
- Foster a high functioning team environment with the Board and staff
Financial Planning and Management
- Achieve revenue targets defined in the annual budget.
- Provide the Board with comprehensive, regular reports on the revenue and expenditure of the organization
- Work with staff and Finance Committee to prepare and implement an annual budget
Operational Planning and Management
- Oversee the day-to-day operation of WCFA. This includes but is not limited to managing finances, developing and executing the annual Exhibit Schedule, overseeing rentals, marketing, membership, website maintenance, social media updates, and facility management.
- Review existing policies on an annual basis and recommend changes as appropriate.
Program Planning and Management
- Ensure that programs and services offered by WCFA achieve mission, vision, values and reflect the priorities of the organization.
- Monitor the delivery of diverse, inclusive and accessible programs and services of WCFA.
Human Resources Planning and Management
- Determine staffing requirements for organizational management and mission driven program delivery
- Establish a positive, healthy and safe work environment in accordance with all appropriate legislation and regulations
Community Relations/Advocacy
- Communicate with stakeholders to keep them informed of the work of WCFA and to identify changes in the community served by WCFA
- Establish good working relationships and collaborative arrangements with community groups, constituents, and other organizations, and represent WCFA at community activities to enhance WCFA’s profile.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills Required
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree and relevant experience working in non-profit administration, with a strong interest in community arts in addition to the following skills:
- A passion for the arts and WCFA’s mission and strategic plan.
- Excellent attention to detail, the ability to efficiently organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously, and thrive under self-direction as a positive team leader
- Strong working knowledge of Google Workspace Applications (Google Docs, Calendar, Gmail, Sheets, etc.
- Fundraising and development experience
- Knowledge of general accounting practices, and a general understanding of Quickbooks Online, POS systems such as Square and Stripe, and the CRM application Little Green Light.
- Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills; must be comfortable with public speaking
